Proxy price calculator

Work out what a proxy plan will actually cost you per month from the price per GB and the traffic you expect to use.

Estimate your monthly proxy cost from price per GB and expected traffic. The result is a transparent derived calculation from your inputs — nothing is guessed, and the arithmetic is shown.

Why the headline price is rarely the price you pay

Proxy providers advertise a rate per gigabyte, and that rate almost always assumes the largest plan. The figure that matters is what your own volume costs on the tier you would actually buy, which is usually a different number and occasionally a much worse one.

Two things move the total more than the advertised rate. The first is the minimum commitment: a plan billed at $4/GB with a 50 GB floor costs $200 whether you use 5 GB or 50. The second is overage, which is charged at a penalty rate on most residential plans — going 10% over a small plan can cost more than moving up a tier.

Estimating your traffic honestly

Most people underestimate this, because they think in pages rather than bytes. A plain HTML page is tens of kilobytes; the same page with images, fonts and scripts can be several megabytes. If you are scraping and not blocking assets you may be paying for twenty times the data you actually need.

Failed requests bill too. A blocked page still transfers a response, so a job with a 70% success rate is buying 1.4 GB of billable traffic for every gigabyte of usable data. Work out your cost per successful request rather than per gigabyte and cheap-looking providers often stop being cheap.

Comparing like with like

This calculator works in price per GB, which is how residential and mobile proxies are sold. Datacentre and ISP proxies are usually sold per IP per month, and the two cannot be compared as numbers — a $0.03 per-IP price is not a hundred times cheaper than $3 per GB, it is a different product billed a different way. Decide which billing model your job needs first, then compare within it.

Every provider price on this site is recorded with the page it was read from and the date it was read. Providers change pricing without notice, so check the source link on a provider's profile before committing to anything.

Providers bill in different units — per GB, per IP, per port or per month. Check the unit on a provider profile before comparing a figure with this one.
