See the location, network owner and ASN behind any IP address, plus an honest read on whether it looks like a home connection or infrastructure.
The address you enter is sent to ipwho.is, which returns the location and network owner. Results are cached here for a week so the same address is not looked up twice.
Location is where the address is registered or routed, which is not always where the machine is. Geolocation databases place addresses by network registration, so a corporate VPN can put you a country away from your desk. Treat city-level results as a strong hint rather than a fact.
ASN and ISP identify the network that announces the address. This is the most reliable field on the page: it comes from routing data rather than inference.
Network type is our reading of whether the address belongs to a consumer ISP or to hosting infrastructure, based on who owns it.
The score is built from a handful of signals we can genuinely observe, and every one of them is listed under the result with the weight it contributed. Nothing is hidden in a black box, because a number you cannot inspect is a number you cannot argue with.
It is worth being blunt about the limits. This is not a fraud score. Commercial fraud scoring draws on abuse feeds, device fingerprints and payment history — none of which this site has. What you get here is a reasonable first read: a datacentre address behind a residential proxy is worth knowing about, and so is an operator whose name says VPN. Plenty of ordinary traffic comes from hosting networks, so a high score is a prompt to look closer, not a verdict.
Lookups are served by ipwho.is. Results are cached here for a week, so a repeated lookup does not send the address off again.
